I just received the new Air 2 TH 6126 and was blown away casting it for the first time. It is unequivocally the finest small TH rod I’ve ever cast — almost unbelievable how smooth and powerful the rod is. Casts to 90 ft or more were effortless. Like the 7133 Air 2 TH, the rod feels light and quick, pairing great power in the lower part of the rod with exquisite tip feel and line control. A truly outstanding new TH rod, and one particularly well suited for skating dries for summer steelhead. !
I’ve paired it with a 475 PNW Scandi Pro lines and will be fishing the rod as much as I can in the coming months on a spring trip to Iceland, and fall trips to British Columbia, and Oregon’s Deschutes River. I’m particularly looking forward to skating dry flies on the Grand Rhonde.
The new Air 2 TH 7133 is a remarkable Rod, and an unexpected improvement over the Air 7133 — a rod that I and my students all loved! The Air 2 TH is thinner, lighter, with a noticeably quicker response time. It still has the classic Winston two hand rod feel I cherish, but also has a lot of power in the lower half of the rod. The combination of quickness, lightness, and exquisite feel balanced with power make casting the new Air 2 TH rod a remarkable experience.
