IMPORTANT WARRANTY STATUS NOTE

Regardless of what is marked above regarding the warranty status of your rod, we will officially confirm the warranty once the rod is received into our facility for repairs. If you’re unsure of your rod’s Warranty status, please contact our team at warranty@winstonrods.com or call 406.684.5674 ext. 2 before completing this form.

If your rod is not covered by the lifetime warranty, in most cases, we can still do the repair for non-warranty pricing of an additional $100. For those rods that are covered by the lifetime warranty that we can no longer repair, a warranty upgrade will be offered to replace your original rod. To do this, we require this form to be submitted along with the broken rod. If a rod is not covered under the lifetime warranty and can no longer be repaired, we’re unable to offer a repair or warranty upgrade. See PART 3 of this form for rod models that we are no longer able to repair.

Note that a rod’s warranty is non-transferable and is available to only those customers who purchased a new, unused rod from an authorized Winston dealer. Customers have 30 days from the date of purchase to register the rod by mailing the warranty card or completing and submitting the Online Warranty Registration Form on our website. Rods not covered under this guarantee include:

  • Used Winston rods not in the possession of the original owner.
  • Lost rods and lost rod sections.
  • Intentional breakage, misuse, neglect, and cosmetic wear that occurs over the lifetime use of the product.
  • New Winston rods purchased from anyone other than an authorized Winston Dealer.
  • Winston rods that have not been properly registered.

PART 3 - ROD MODEL AND REPAIR WORK INFORMATION

Please note: Warranty upgrades for discontinued/non-repairable products are only available to the original owner of the rod, and only if the rod is covered under our lifetime warranty. Please contact us if you have a discontinued product and are not the original owner before sending into us.

ROD MODELS THAT ARE NO LONGER REPAIRABLE:

DISCONTINUED PREMIUM RODS THAT MAY REQUIRE UPGRADE: XDLT, IM6 XD, XTR, BL5, LTX, 2-piece 9’6” IM6 and WT, 7 and 8 weight IM6 and WT (2&3pc), DL4, 5pc B3X.

DISCONTINUED VALUE RODS THAT MAY REQUIRE UPGRADE: Nexus, Nimbus, Ascent, Ibis, Vapor, VSL, Passport.

For those customers that are covered by the warranty of any of the discontinued models, a comparable model will be offered as a warranty replacement or upgrade. For customers that own these rods, but are not covered by the lifetime warranty, Winston cannot offer a repair or an upgrade. If you have any questions about the warranty repair or replacement of any fly rod, please do not hesitate to contact us.

***Special Note*** Most Winston serial numbers will be hand inscribed on the butt section of the rod and are 4-6 digits. In some cases where there were a limited edition the serial number format will be numbered 1-xxx. Call us for help to locate a serial number. All Winston Blanks are sent out with a serial number. However, some custom builders do not include the number on the rod. If this is the case, simply write “BLANK” in the section.

PART 4 - REPAIR ADD ONS

***Special note: if replacing the grip, the reel seat must also be replaced. This add-on is for customers wanting to replace a perfectly functional grip for aesthetic reasons. For rods that are sent in with broken butt sections, the grip replacement is included in the standard warranty price and won’t need to be included as a repair add on.

If a customer want to replace the reel seat for purely aesthetic reasons.

***Special Note: Inscriptions are limited to two lines and 18 characters per line (including spaces). For rods that are shorter than 7’6” a custom inscription cannot be added due to limited space. Leave Inscription Text field blank to indicate removal.


PART 5 - PAYMENT AND ORDERING INFORMATION

The repair deposit shown below is required with your mailed in Warranty Repair Service Form. If we need to adjust this amount, we will refund or contact you for additional payment information.

After clicking the Submit button, a copy of this form will be emailed to you. Please PRINT this confirmation email to include with your shipment.  Put any broken parts inside the tube and outside the rod sock, then package your rod in the original rod tube and rod sock, and wrap the confirmation email around the rod tube with a rubber band. For ease of unpacking, please do not put broken sections back in the rod sock’s sleeves.

Package the rod tube inside secure cardboard packaging from your preferred shipping service (UPS, FEDEX, USPS) and ship to: WINSTON RODS | ATTN: ROD REPAIR | 500 S. MAIN ST. | P.O. BOX 411 | TWIN BRIDGES, MT | 59754. Once the rod arrives to our facility, we will send a confirmation email, that will include repair time and other important details regarding the repair of your rod.
