DESIGNED IN TROUT COUNTRY

DESIGNED FOR TROUT COUNTRY

MODEL BY MODEL BREAKDOWN

7’3” 2 weight PURE 2
When fishing small trout on tiny water, this 2 weight is the perfect choice. Delicate for trout that spook at your shadow, but just plain fun to fish, especially when a 10” brookie bends the rod to the cork.

6’9” 3 weight PURE 2
Made for those maniacs that head into the small, wooded streams of the Appalachians or willow choked creeks out West, this 3 weight is compact for the tightest of water, capable of flicks, bow and arrow, and other casts when a back-cast is tough.

7’9” 3 weight PURE 2
If you can own only one small creek rod, the 7’9” 3 weight is it. Incredibly supple with added control for slightly longer casts, you’ll want to pull out this rod for your perfect, happy days on smaller water.

7’9” 4 weight PURE 2
When accuracy is critical and delicacy is mandatory, the 7’9” 4 weight has incredible touch and feel, allowing anglers more versatility when more power is required.

8’3” 4 weight PURE 2
If you can own only one spring creek rod, the PURE 2 8’3” 4 weight is the one. Incredibly delicate with superb control, this incredible rod will become a classic. With unmatched feel, this rod will load at your shoelaces and manage longer drifts with
ease.

9’ 4 weight PURE 2
The most versatile technical tailwater rod in the group, the 9’ 4 weight is ready to turn over long leaders to snobby tailwaterfish. It has backbone for double dries and light droppers, but truly showcases the classic Winston action for longer presentations.

8’3” 5 weight PURE 2
An incredible choice for smaller tailwater and freestone rivers. For us, the Beaverhead River has heavy flows, and short casts that tuck caddis and sallies under willows and faster pockets bring success. This rod is ready for those quick shots and pinpoint accuracy in tighter situations.

9’ 5 weight PURE 2
The 9’ 5 weight is the ideal big-water rod in the entire line-up. With a slower action compared to our AIR 2, this 5 weight is up for longer casts, bigger flies, and amazing control in a medium-fast action format. If you’re looking for a versatile 5 weight, but prefer a paced, smooth action, this rod will cover multiple, big tailwater fishing applications.

NEW NANO PARTICLE TECHNOLOGY

The PURE 2 uses our new versatile double-bonded NanoParticle graphite technology. This incredible material Enhances both performance and presentation yet creates an unbelievably stable rod blank with exceptional feel.

Ultimately, NanoParticle technology enhances the classic Winston action and improves lightness, durability, and strength, while easily loading at typical trout fishing distances. We’re excited to introduce this incredible technology to help anglers achieve perfect performance and more enjoyment on the water.Winston Nano Technology

  1. NanoParticle Technology forms a “double-bond” to the resin and graphite to increase stress distribution by up to 30%, creating the world’s most consistent actions and intuitive casting rods.
  2. NanoParticles increase a rod’s strength by 24%as compared to standard resin, increasing fishfighting power.
  3. Creates thinner blank walls to transmit more feel.
  4. Incredible hoop strength for more stability for improved loop control and pin-point accuracy.
  5. NanoParticle Technology has a lower resin content, yielding lighter blanks allowing for more connection on long and short casts.
  6. Provides more liveliness to a rod’s action, allowing for feel up close and reserve power when needed.

Pure2 9' 4wt it flies dries so good Ill probably be buried with this thing

recently picked up to replace my stolen first gen pure 9'5wt and can say that the pure2 is even better than the original you can place your fly with a delicate kiss exactly where you want it with all that winston feel. and I know what Im talking about having been fishing their sticks since I was 6 year old. it is the best dry fly rod I think Ive fished to date and has better control handling a light nymph rig or hopper dropper than the original pure making it truly enjoyable versus being a bit of a chore. Ive tested 3, 4 wt lines so far sa amp mpx, trout, and rio technical trout and have found the sa amplitude trout smooth to be the best line on this rod thus far. everthing from 5-45ft is pinpoint accurate and effortless an absolute joy to toss drys. that next range out to 55-60ft is good a bit more labor but can still punch through wind and get there when you have to make that cast and still present your fly delicately and accurately . that 70-80 ft range is makeable in fair conditions but is really further than this rod wants to be fished. the first fish I landed with this rod was my pb brown a 30" hog on an emerger and the rod had all the guts for the fight to get him in the net. this rod has all that winston magic that Ive known since my grandpa first handed me his 8'6 6wt over a quarter century ago, with modern wizardry that makes it simply the best dry rod Ive ever fished. if your are looking for one stick to do everything I think there are better options like the air2 or douglas sky g, but if you want the dry rod you will be buried with this is probably it. It is going to take one **** of a rod to knock the pure out of my quiver but I think the pure 2 is as close to a perfect dry rod as there is.

A beautifully performing wizardry wand

I have used the 9' 4wt about five times since buying it, but so far, the rod has been nothing short of amazing. It has a moderate flex that makes roll casting easy and the rod loads well even at shorter distances. In a pinch, it can even throw a fluffy salmonfly decently, and also totally handles a hopper-dropper without much extra effort. Because of the softer action, I can mend well and keep the fly exactly where I want. The rod makes me feel like a wizard to be able to put and keep the fly exactly where I want, landing like a butterfly with sore feet. Wingardium leviosa! I haven't tried other lines, but it pairs well with Rio's Technical Trout line. As I was hoping for, the rod makes me want to get out on the water as much as possible. Well done, Winston!

Air 2 7'9" and 8'4"

I've been fortunate enough to get out on our local spring creeks and fish both of these rods numerous times. My initial impression when I first received them and cast them was they did not live up to the original models. I will admit this was during some rather nasty weather. After getting them on the stream and putting them to the test my mind quickly changed. I have caught numerous fish and cast them in a variety of conditions and they are now my favorite 4 weight rods.
