Question: Which lens color is better for fishing?

Answer: Because of the lens clarity, ALL of our polarized sunglasses lens colors will work well for fishing in freshwater and saltwater, so if there’s a lens color or model you strongly prefer, you should buy that pair with the confidence that you can use it on your fishing trip. The more important factor is lens clarity. However, there are certain light conditions where amber lenses can marginally heighten contrast that some anglers find useful. All polarized lenses, however, heighten contrast.

Answer: We selected Nylon lenses, for our premium Montanan and LVF sunglasses because, quite simply, they are in our opinion, the best material for flyfishing sunglasses.

Question: What is oleophobic coating used on the Montana and LVF lenses?

Answer:  Makes cleaning the lenses easier and reduces smudging. Oleophobic coating is a specialized surface treatment applied to the nylon lenses of Winston Montana and LVF sunglasses designed to repel oils, fingerprints, and smudges. This advanced technology is commonly used on touchscreens, lenses, and other high-contact surfaces to maintain clarity and cleanliness. (from our USA partner). Question: What is the anti-reflective coating on the Montana and LVF lenses?

Answer: Calms reflected light from behind to allow better visibility looking forward. Coating is a special treatment applied to the nylon lenses of Winston Montana and LVF sunglasses. Answer: People who love the optics of our lenses and beauty of our frames who are dedicated anglers, as well as those who don’t fish but want excellent sunglasses and just want to look great. This, of course, includes anyone, especially anglers, wanting to feel comfortable with how they look who don’t particularly like the appearance of wrap-around sunglasses.

Question: Can I achieve more side-coverage with Winston sunglasses?

Answer:  For anyone who loves our sunglasses and yet also wants a little extra side light protection when fishing, try using a gaiter and pull it up over the sides of your head which will cover the sides of the sunglasses and block out most of any side light. You can also get inexpensive slide-on SIDE SHIELDS. They slide onto the arms of your sunglasses and block out extra light. We used these in New Zealand recently and they worked well. However, we found that the sunglasses look much better without the side shields (especially for photos), so eventually took them off and were easily able to spot fish underwater all day without them, especially with our anti-reflective coating.
